Mary Martha + Matt
Love and the sweet scent of early spring were in the air at the garden party wedding of Mary Martha and Matt, who seemed destined for each other before they first met. Introduced at a Fourth of July picnic, the two quickly fell in love. Despite living hundreds of miles apart, the two found a way to see each other as often as possible. Matt popped the question six months later.
Wedding Ceremony and Reception
To emphasize the importance of faith and family, their daytime wedding was held at midday, allowing guests an afternoon of merriment. The wedding ceremony was held at the bride’s hometown church, with the reception celebration at the home of the parents of the bride. Soft blue tones, modern art, perfect early spring blooms, and a wedding brunch were some elements that made us feel like we’d stepped into a wedding in the English countryside.
Handmade Paper Wedding Invitations
Mary Martha wanted a soft and romantic invitation suite with a color palette that reflected her English garden wedding inspiration. She was immediately drawn to the handmade paper, which reflected the color of her bridesmaid’s dresses and vellum envelopes. A talented oil artist, the bride’s mother, created an original piece of abstract art to be used as the invitation wrap. My modern, romantic calligraphy style led the design and perfectly complimented the other modern elements. Nestled inside the vellum envelope and invitation wrap lay a gorgeous letterpress invitation on soft blue handmade paper. The entire suite delighted their guests and set the tone for a romantic affair.
