Angela Esposito
Inspired by a recent vacation to Carmel-by-the-Sea, Creative Director and Stylist, Angela Esposito conceptualized a shoot grounded in a sophisticated and textured aesthetic. With earthy, one-of-a-kind textures, this minimalist, wabi-sabi-inspired editorial played out timelessly with Angela’s trained eye for styling. Shot by Sarah Parker Photography.
The overall mood of the shoot was very minimal and natural, with a hint of boldness and intrigue. Drawn to minimalist and Wabi-Sabi influences, the tones were earthy and muted. Hints of high-contrast blacks and soft, pearly whites added depth and dimension. Creating interest with varied textures of handmade papers and fabric, the wedding invitation designs were reminiscent of the earthy ruggedness of the ocean cliffs and dramatic fog. We used movement in the forms of modern calligraphy and hand-painted elements to create another layer of dimension to the minimalist aesthetic.
Following her trip to Carmel, Angela was prompted to leave her corporate career for more joy and purpose. The calm and expansive landscape gave her the breathing room to break out of her rut at the time. Thinking bigger and seeing new possibilities led her to open her own studio, Angela Esposito. She works with artisans and creative entrepreneurs to tell their stories through intentional and elevated imagery.
