Understanding the timeline for your wedding stationery is a crucial element to wedding planning.

Save the Dates

Inquire with your dream stationery designer 10-12 months before your wedding day.

Design and production of save the dates generally takes 4-6 weeks.

Aim to mail your save the dates 6-8 months before the wedding.

Wedding Invitations

If you choose not to use the same designer for save the dates and wedding invitations, I recommend you inquire with your stationery 6-8 months before your wedding day.

Design and production of custom wedding invitations takes 6-8 weeks on average but may change depending on the complexity of the design.

We recommend you mail your wedding invitations 8-10 weeks before your wedding day.

Wedding Day Stationery

Your stationer will want to begin designing your wedding day stationery about 4-6 weeks before your wedding day.

Thank You Cards

Remember to send thank you cards 2-3 months after the wedding.

The Custom Design Process

At Lupine Letters, our refined process means you can relax, knowing that the details are all handled and the final product will be simply perfect. So you spend less time stressing the small stuff and more time celebrating the beauty of your engagement season!

1. Complimentary Consultation:

Your journey with us begins with a free consultation and a detailed questionnaire. We want to know your story, your passions, and your wedding vision. These subtle details serve as our inspiration.

2. Custom Proposal

Following our consultation, we create a custom proposal tailored to your stationery wishes and fine details. This proposal includes the contract and invoice for a 50% retainer to secure your spot on our calendar.

3. Wedding Invitation Lookbook

Once your wedding is on the books, we create a wedding invitation lookbook, complete with an inspiration board that showcases the aesthetics, inspiration, and details of your project. The lookbook helps develop the initial design concepts, including custom artwork, illustrations, calligraphy styles, paper sourcing, and wording.

4. Artwork Creation and Proofing

After your lookbook and invitation wording are approved, we begin creating your custom designs. Watercolor elements are painted, calligraphy is perfected, and line illustrations receive their finishing touches. We then create the artwork and layout for your invitations and send a proof for your feedback. All custom invitations come with 3 rounds of proofing.

5. Production

Once your final proofs are approved and your print release signed, we send the design files to our trusted printers. We meticulously manage deadlines, order supplies, and work with vendors to ensure your project timeline stays on track.

6. Quality Assurance and Assembly

Upon receiving your final pieces from our printers, every element is inspected by hand to ensure they meet our high-quality standards. One of the perks of working with a full-service stationery studio is the option of having our team assemble your invitations for mailing. This includes lining envelopes, applying wax seals, stuffing envelopes, tying ribbon, adhering postage, and sealing envelopes. For custom wedding invitations over $2,500, we offer free assembly and mailing services if desired.

7. Mailing

For those clients with demanding lives outside of planning a wedding, mailing services are a white glove offering to take advantage of. We will deliver your invitations to the post office for hand canceling and ensure they are turned over to our local team of postal workers. For an additional fee, I will even deliver the invitations to Loving, Texas, to be hand-cancelled at their local post office. Another romantic detail!
